Leads are people who asked for work but have not bought yet. Open Pipeline in the Sales group of the rail, or the Pipeline tab on iPhone.
Seven stages
A lead moves from New through Contacted, Qualified, Proposal and Negotiation, and ends as Won or Lost. The first five are open. Won and Lost close the lead.
- Won means the lead became a customer with real work. Mark it won only when the job is yours without a signed estimate. Normally the lead is won when its estimate is signed.
- Lost asks why, so the reasons show up in your reports.
- Converting a lead creates the customer and carries its history over.
Lenses
More options has Map, Import, Export and Lead numbers, and a link to the Estimate request form.
- List: search, filter and scan. A chip row shows what needs you.
- Board: drag leads between stages.
- Inbox: new messages and requests.
- Work the list: the call list. See Work the list.
What you can do from a lead
- Call, Text or Reach out.
- Book the measure. The customer gets a text or an email.
- Remind me on a day you choose.
- Start or finish the estimate. The next step on the card says which.
- Mark won or Mark lost.
Where leads come from
Every lead records its source, so you can see which channels pay. See Where leads come from.
New requests
A request from your estimate form shows a New request on Today and in your Pipeline. Answering within minutes wins far more jobs than your price does.
Pro tip: Referrals tend to win on margin, not just close rate. If your numbers say otherwise, check whether you tag referrals as direct out of habit.
