Questions

The app is running slowly. What can I do?

Close other apps to free up memory. If a drawing has many photos, the gallery may take time to load. Try restarting the app. On older devices, keep the number of photos per drawing reasonable. Zooming out on very complex drawings may also reduce performance. Large Sketch canvases (8192x8192 px) use more memory than other layout types.

My drawing disappeared. How do I get it back?

First check you are on the right layout in the layout bar, and look in the Drawings list for the drawing. If you cleared a layout by accident, use undo straight away. A deleted drawing waits 30 days in the Recycle bin. Drawings autosave, so the last saved state is usually kept.

The grid is not responding to touches.

First, check if the grid is locked (look for the lock icon or type unlock). Also verify you have a drawing tool selected, not the fill or label tool. If you are on a Sketch or Document layout, make sure pan mode is off — pan mode prevents drawing. If the issue persists, try restore to exit maximized mode, then restart the app.

My subscription is active but features are still locked.

Your plan lives on your account, so signing in is all it takes. If features still look locked, open Settings, You, Plan and billing and choose Recheck plan, and confirm you are signed into the account that holds the plan.

Cloud sync is not working.

Check your internet connection. Look at the sync status indicator in the header — it shows Live, Syncing, Offline, or Error. If it shows Offline, the device has no connection. If it shows Error, try closing and reopening the drawing. Ensure iCloud is enabled in your device settings.

Photos are not uploading to the cloud.

Photo uploads happen through a background queue. Check your internet connection and wait a few minutes. Large photo sets take time to upload. The queue persists — if connectivity drops, it resumes automatically when the connection returns. The upload queue continues even after restarting the app.

The app crashed. Did I lose my work?

Drawings auto-save regularly. Reopen the app and check the Drawings browser for your drawing. In most cases, the last saved state is preserved. If you were in the middle of drawing, the most recent strokes since the last auto-save may be lost.

I can't open an exported drawing file.

Make sure you are opening the file through Measure Tech PRO, not another app. Use the import option in the Drawings browser, or tap the file in the Files app and choose Open In Measure Tech PRO. You can also use the Share Extension from any app to send the file to Measure Tech PRO.

Team members can't see shared drawings.

Check that the member is assigned to the right market and that the drawing is shared to it. They must be signed in and online. If the team's plan has lapsed, access is limited until it is renewed.

The report looks different than expected.

Check the section switches in Customize, make sure layout names are clear because they become headings, and review the gallery for unwanted photos. Your logo and details come from Settings, Company, Business info, and the drawing's details from Drawing Info.

Elevation Scanner is not producing results.

The Elevation Scanner needs internet and a paid plan. Check your connection, then take a clear, straight-on photo in good light. Avoid extreme angles, heavy shadows or a partly hidden facade, and scan again if the result is poor.

Drafting snap is not working as expected.

Open Snap Settings from the Drafting toolbar and verify the snap types you need are enabled. If Grid Snap is on but grid lines are too dense or sparse, adjust the zoom level. If snapping to endpoints or midpoints isn't working, make sure those snap types are toggled on. Ortho Lock overrides some snap behavior by constraining to horizontal/vertical only.

DXF export opens incorrectly in AutoCAD.

Verify that your Drafting layout units match what you expect in AutoCAD. The DXF includes INSUNITS metadata so CAD software should interpret units correctly. If scaling looks off, check the Drawing Scale setting. Layer names with special characters are sanitized (spaces become underscores, names are uppercased) to maximize compatibility.

I can't hear haptic feedback on the level.

Haptic feedback requires a device with a Taptic Engine (iPhone 7 and later). Make sure your device's system haptics are enabled in Settings > Sounds & Haptics. The level provides haptic feedback when it detects the surface is level (the wheel turns green).

Why is texting locked?

The business phone, texting and calls are not part of the free trial, because a number and every text cost money. Customer messages go by email during the trial. Pick a paid plan, then register your business and choose a number in Settings, Selling, Texting.

Why can't I invite my crew?

Crew invites are on the Team plan. On Pro or the free trial there is no invite. If you are on Team and every office seat is taken, add a seat, or invite the person as Field, which never uses a seat.

An integration says Needs attention. What now?

Open Settings, Integrations and tap the row. It names the next step, such as Reconnect, Fix or Retry. Sign in again with the same account if the connection expired. Disconnecting is in the more menu and keeps everything already synced.
