Financing lets a customer pay a big job in monthly payments through a lender. You never lend the money. The customer applies with the lender, and you track the application. Financing is an early-access feature, so it may not appear in your settings yet.
Set it up
Open Settings, Getting paid, Financing. Only an owner or admin can.
Monthly payment options then appear on proposals, invoices and the customer's page.
- Wisetack is the default lane. Paste your Prequal link from the Wisetack merchant portal. Jobs up to $65,000 use it.
- Big-ticket lane: paste your own lender's link for larger jobs.
- Set the button label customers see, a note on states a lender does not serve, and whether members may offer financing.
Offer it to a customer
- Open the job or invoice and tap Offer financing.
- Send or text the customer the application link. The message carries the lender's required wording about a soft credit check.
- Wait for the customer to apply. This takes about a minute for them.
Follow the application
The application moves through stages. Tap the next stage as it happens: started, loan agreed, approved, and funded. If approved, enter the amount the lender approved, which can differ from the amount you asked for. An offer lapses after 30 days.
- Mark funded records the money as a financing payment against the invoice.
- If it falls through, mark it not approved, or cancel the application.
- You can re-invite the customer with a fresh application.
Things to know
- Never add a surcharge for a financed customer. Lender terms require the same price for every payment method.
- The merchant fee is priced into the job and shows on the job's margin.
- Funded financing does not reverse if you void an invoice. Check the lender's reversal window before any refund.
- Card, bank and deposit payments keep working beside it.
Pro tip: Offer financing on the proposal, not after the no. It changes the number the customer compares.
